MAKING INFUSED

OILS

FOR HEALTH & BEAUTY

FRIDAY, JULY 29, 2022

Sarah will walk you through the steps to create infused herbal oils with common weeds and cultivated plants, including lavender.

  • Discover how to make and preserve your oils.

  • Find out which herbs pair well with lavender and what combinations best soothe minor injuries and reduce scarring, which best moisturize dry hands and feet or deter insects like ticks and mosquitos.

Participants will use up to three combinations of their own choosing to produce three herb-infused oils. These oils will need to macerate at home a few weeks before trying with friends and family. Instructions for making oils into salves will also be demonstrated.

PLEASE wear sturdy shoes and dress appropriately for the weather. Sarah will be leading participants on a plant ID walk at the beginning of the workshop.

USING LAVENDER + COMMON PLANTS FOR MINOR INJURIES

FRIDAY, AUGUST 12, 2022

Sarah will show you five common plants that can be used alongside lavender to mitigate pain, promote healing, and reduce scarring from minor injuries. Find out which herbs, flowers and weeds arrest bleeding, cleanse wounds, soothe burns or stings, minimize inflammation from bruising, relieve itching or pain from bug bites or allergic reactions like hives and rashes.

Sarah will demonstrate the age-old methods of poultices and compresses, and participants will have the opportunity to make blends of their own and practice. Learn the differences between the two, why temperature is important, and the situations in which they may prove helpful.

Participants will take home the ingredients, supplies and instructions for three recipes.
